Megan Melgaard - Megan works on both sides of the camera as triathlon consultant and Associate Producer in the sports documentary entitled 'Living is Winning,' to be released in April 2008. This compelling story follows the life of Ironman Triathlete and Leukemia patient, Andrew 'Drew' Johnston, as he attempts to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Intertwined with moving interviews, extensive training, educating animation, beautiful still photography and an original score, this documentary retells his amazing life story. With every stroke, pedal, and step Drew takes, you not only root for him, you cheer for what he believes in – a nothing is impossible attitude and a day-to-day appreciation of life.
Megan appears in the 2007 holiday hit, 'This Christmas,' a drama where secrets are revealed and family bonds are tested, ultimately revelaing the true meaning of family. Megan sings behind star rapper, Chris Brown, as a member of the Christmas Day Gospel Choir.
Megan Melgaard was cast as a featured swimmer for the upcoming film, 'The Guardian,' starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. She played the role of Megan Hyde, as part of a class of trainees being tested at the Coast Guard's "A" School, or rescue swimmer training program. She was upgraded to principle on this film and received her Screen Actors Guild card. For "The Guardian," Melgaard appears in training scenes behind Ashton Kutcher, who plays a cocky swimming champion who becomes a rescue swimmer. Testing their limits of mental and physical endurance will be Costner, who plays a legendary rescue swimmer who starts teaching at "A" School after a traumatic sea accident.
Megan has completed her certifications for Super Level 1 Motion Picture Stunt Driving as well as her NAUI Scuba Diving Certification for Action Film Scuba Diving.
Due to her performance at the Xterra World Championships and her involvement in sport, Megan was invited to participate in an Adventure Based Reality Show entitled ‘The Nevada Passage.’ The show consisted of a six day adventure race including rock climbing, jet skiing, a treasure hunt, mountain biking and snowshoeing , sand boarding and kayaking. Megan made it on ESPN's 'Top Ten Worst Plays of the Week' with a spectacular fall in the sandboarding competiton.
